THE POWER OF WORDS!!!

It has been passed on from generation to generation, as children are taught this phrase "Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones But Words Will Never Hurt Me!" but this is a lie from conception and I will tell you why!

Proverbs 18:2(NKJV)                                                                                                                           Death and life are in the power of the tongue And those who love it will eat its fruit.

The tongue can build up a person or tear him/her down depending on the intent of the words. If a child is constantly told he/she is a failure (most cases) he/she will lack confidence and struggle in life! It will affect their ability to build relationships and many times get involved with people who would verbally abuse them. (Appealing to dysfunction)

The tongue can be used as a weapon and pierce the very soul of a person or nation. After all, didn't Satan use words to lure Eve into sin and convinced Adam to follow. From the beginning, man has been tempted by self-preservation and all man, now, has to deal with his own flesh, already condemned to death but only through Christ his soul can be free!

A lying tongue can start wars and manipulate its course, a persuasive tongue (Leaders) can change any situation, for or against God and his children.

The tongue can poison the mind of a child forcing hate to consume his/her soul, just look at history and research the life of Hitler. The entire world was affected by one man's hate for other races.                   

The tongue can, say "I love you" and in the same breath, say "I hate you" the difference is the condition of the heart, mind and soul! How much damage or building up has your tongue been involved in. There are words that curse a person to the point of them being unforgiving and leading them to a defeated life or a state of hurting others before being hurt. In any form this is poison! And so many have dipped their tongues in it not knowing the soul has been target for self-destruction and dysfunction.

Psalm 5:9(NKJV)                                                                                                                            
For there is no faithfulness in their mouth: Their inward part is destruction;   Their throat is an open tomb; They flatter with their tongue.

We are people who expresses ourselves uniquely and more than often, echo what we hear but we rarely pay attention to how our words affect others. We are deceived to think our words and how we say them is a development of our character or attitude. Actually! It’s a reflection of negativity in our lives. May it be ridicule, sarcasm or patronizing words, the tongue will stab its victim. 

In today’s society cursing is accepted even among children, it’s considered cute but society doesn’t realize Satan has lured man once again into dysfunction and he has increased the appeal of
self-promotion and self-preservation to new levels. If you look around the world and carefully analyze its direction, it’s heading for self-destruction. The greed of some, are causing others to suffer or be controlled to a point of no effect. If all you can influence is your household or immediate environment, at least use your tongue to build up and not tear down. For your words are like nutritious fruits to the soul but if the fruit is rotten, so will it rotten the soul.
