Elijah decided to take a break from his accounting work and headed over to a local sandwich shop. While eating his meal, he overheard two gentlemen speaking, one bearded man with a beer belly, sarcastically said, as he reads the front of a young woman's t-shirt,: "Virgin, Special Life!" , " Yeah right, she's like in her early 20' s... The next man across with a proud voice responded: " If that was my girl, she wouldn't be a virgin for long!... So both men laughed and & continued eating! Elijah, who was beside himself, was disgusted with their comments because he himself was a virgin at 22 yrs. old and still he's still waiting for his bride! After staring at his hot Steamy, Philly Cheese Steak, doused in his favorite Huava Guava BoomSauce, he pondered, how he would express his love to his future bride. When most of your life have been a performance worthy of a standing ovaition, time becomes weary and burdensome, passions fade away and trust is lost in words of repetition. Romance gets a schedule & spontaneous takes a back seat, honor and devotion are held on, for fear of failure but the threads are coming loose, thread after thread, so what then! Memories are called on, to rebuild feelings of satisfaction but again, lies return, promises are broken and the heart begins to shatter. So now your on shacky ground, where do you go, when life doesn't follow the plan? Now sorrow and depression settles in and daily family activities become chores. Everything looks promising on the outside but inside the soul is caught between love and hate. Love wants to forgive but repeated offenses closes the door. Gentle words turn to poisonous venom and attacks it's prey leaving scars, residue of tears, and a hopeless void. Betrayal have driven endless sorrow and life is not worth living ...

When life gets unbearable and seems unlivable, remember the better times, remember how you cherished them, remember, most of all, every decision leading to today. Dear Ghetto Life: There was a time I was swayed by your style and creativeness. You taught me how to dress the part and how to speak your lingo. I sang your songs and learned your dance moves and as far as the opposite sex, I learned how to run game on them too! It took me some time being shy and a fighter of small statue but Jr High-school was prime for a break through. My coaches realized I had potential and the uniform fit me well! The freedoms we have in America are still the greatest reason why this country is so great! And the ability to change for improvement to enlighten the face of this country is amazing! I heard many opinions about the recent shootings in America and all are valid because it’s from each person’s perspective, so let me share mine. If a person has never been racially profiled, discriminated against or called the “N” word then that person can’t know the fears and humiliation that follows these actions of hate, he/she can’t have the right perspective, the same if a person has never lived in the ghetto or projects or experienced a major crime against him/her.  I grow up with all of this surrounding me and I can tell you the rules are very different than most.
